For most of my life, my relationship with my body was one of disconnection.

I lived in my head — constantly overthinking, second-guessing, criticizing. And my body? It was just… there. Something I either punished or ignored, depending on how I felt about myself that week.

At one point, I weighed 100 lbs. And no, it wasn’t because I was “fit” or “strong.”It was because I was stressed, overwhelmed, and completely detached from what my body actually needed.

But the truth is: my weight was just a symptom.

The real issue?I didn’t feel safe in my body.I didn’t feel in control of my life.I didn’t know how to nourish myself — physically or emotionally.


🌱 The Shift: From Force to Flow

Everything began to change when I stopped focusing on the weight… and started focusing on alignment.

Instead of obsessing over how I looked, I began to ask:“How do I want to feel?”

That question changed everything.

I began listening to my body like it was a friend — not an enemy.I asked myself:

  • What does my body need today?

  • What would feel nourishing, not punishing?

  • What movement would give me joy, not shame?

I swapped calorie counting for intuitive eating.I replaced self-criticism with self-respect.And slowly, the weight came off — but so did the guilt, the pressure, the fear.


✨ Daily Mindset Practices That Helped Me Heal

  1. I spoke kindly to my body — out loud.I told it: “Thank you. I’m listening now.”That one sentence rewired the way I approached every workout, every meal, every mirror reflection.

  2. I visualized the healthiest version of me.Not just the body, but the energy. I saw myself walking confidently, eating with freedom, waking up energized.

  3. I wrote affirmations like:

“My body is my home, and I treat it with love.”“I release what no longer serves me — emotionally and physically.”“Every day, I align deeper with health, strength, and radiance.”

🔄 What Shifted in My Habits

💧 I started drinking more water — not to “lose weight,” but to feel clearer.🥗 I made meals colorful and intentional — not perfect.🧘‍♀️ I moved daily — sometimes that meant yoga, sometimes dancing in my kitchen.

And guess what? My body responded.Not because I forced it…But because I finally partnered with it.

I now weigh 60 lbs — but more importantly, I feel strong, energized, and free.This journey wasn’t about shrinking myself.It was about coming home to myself.
